Here at Haven House, we know the importance of learning about the world around us, our community and how we may differ from others. With our variety of School Sessions designed to focus on bringing elements from your PSHE curriculum, together with supporting your children's understanding of the wider community, whilst furthering the development of their own thoughts, feelings and knowledge in a fun, interactive and inclusive way.

With three different themed sessions to chose from (or all 3 if you wish) - your school community can choose what is right for your students, all delivered within the wonderful safe grounds of Haven House Children's Hospice.

The three topics of our sessions are accessibility, being kind to yourself and exploring nature. Each session is tailored to specific age groups, covering KS1 and KS2. We can also facilitate mixed age groups upon request.

Each session will help your children develop a greater understanding of the world around them, explore key themes such as respect, empathy, compassion, problem solving in the outdoors, all whilst understanding more about disabilities and the diverse community of Haven House. We hope to work together to develop your school communities understanding of their world, whilst exploring the work of Haven House.

We are delighted to share feedback from Avon House Preparatory School who attended our accessibility sessions -

“The trip was really enjoyed by all of the children, it was well thought out and allowed all the children to access the learning. All of them were engaged and actively seeking out new information. They loved looking around Haven House and were really interested to learn how toys, musical instruments and everyday household objects they use can be made accessible so children with additional needs can use them. Emma built a great rapport with the children and allowed them all to ask their questions and find out what they wanted to know about Haven House. They were all able to recall what they had learnt when we returned back to school and the trip was beneficial to all the children" - A Teacher from Avon House Preparatory School
