"Our lives changed unimaginably when our second son, Charlie, was born. It was a traumatic delivery, which required significant resuscitation and left him severely brain damaged. On top of the grief and the life we had imagined, we were also dealing with the worry of how we were going to manage the specialist care he needed and how we would cope financially.

We were thrown into the unknown and had to quickly learn the practicalities of looking after our seriously ill child. This meant tube feeding, oxygen and medication management as well as still looking after our other son Dylan who was just two years old at the time. 
Haven House Children’s Hospice gave us the help and support to find our feet and to learn how to care for a baby who required masses amounts of care. 

Anyone who knows Charlie well knows he lives for his music therapy sessions. He receives one-to-one sessions from Haven House and the positivity, encouragement, and space that our music therapist Roxanne provides during these sessions has been instrumental in Charlie finding a voice. Haven House is Charlie’s happy place."
