Celebrating Eid ul-Adha at Haven House. The grounds of Haven House Children’s Hospice were filled with colour, joy, and community spirit on Monday 9 June as children, families, and staff came together to celebrate Eid ul-Adha in a vibrant and heartfelt event. The celebration brought together Haven House families of all backgrounds to honour the spirit of Eid - a time of kindness, gratitude, and togetherness. With the sun shining and music playing, the hospice garden was transformed into a festive space where fun, food, and friendship were shared in abundance. Guests were treated to a delicious halal Indian buffet freshly prepared on-site by local caterers Bharuch to Bombay. The feast included favourites such as crispy spring rolls, aromatic curries, colourful fruit platters, kulfi ice lollies, and a specially made Eid celebration cake. The evening was packed with activities for all ages, including face painting, traditional henna hand art, creative crafts, and the excitement of smashing the Eid-themed piñata. Families arrived in beautiful traditional outfits, adding a burst of colour and culture to the festivities. It was such a special evening, said Aisling Kilbane, Director of Clinical Services at Haven House. Celebrating Eid ul-Adha with the children and families we support was a heartfelt reminder of what’s most important - togetherness, love, and shared joy. Being able to mark this occasion alongside the families who are at the heart of everything we do made it truly meaningful. With quiet spaces available for anyone wishing to pray or reflect, the event welcomed everyone - offering a joyful opportunity to come together. At Haven House, we’re proud to create inclusive events that bring families together, honouring the richness of our shared experiences and the connections that unite us all. Eid Mubarak from everyone at Haven House.
