We’re delighted to share that our hospice film Through their Eyes has been named a finalist in the Smiley Charity Film Awards 2026.

The film offers a powerful glimpse into hospice life through the perspective of brothers Dylan and Charlie, helping audiences better understand the reality of children’s hospice care and the role Haven House plays in supporting seriously ill children and their families.

Reaching the finals is a fantastic achievement and reflects the support the film has received from our community. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has already voted and helped bring wider attention to the stories of the children and families we support.

Voting remains open, and supporters can still help us go even further in the awards.

Teena Antoniou, Head of Marketing and Communications at Haven House Children’s Hospice, said: “We are incredibly proud that Through their Eyes has been named a finalist in the Smiley Charity Film Awards. The film challenges common misconceptions about hospice care and reveals Haven House for what it truly is - a place filled with life, love and connection.

“By enabling Dylan to tell the story through his own eyes, alongside his brother Charlie, we created space for our children and families to share their experiences with honesty and dignity. Hearing directly from those who live this reality every day is incredibly powerful. It allows people to understand children’s hospice care in a deeper and more human way and helps reshape how our work is seen and understood.”

The Smiley Charity Film Awards celebrate the power of storytelling to raise awareness and inspire support for charitable causes. Being recognised through the awards helps charities reach new audiences and shine a spotlight on the communities they serve.
