Excitement filled the air as children gathered to watch the classic Christmas pantomime Dick Whittington at Haven House last week. The beloved tale, full of colourful costumes, catchy songs, and plenty of audience participation, kickstarted our festive season.

From the moment Dick set out on his adventurous journey to London, hoping the streets were paved with gold, the young audience was captivated. The show’s lively cast kept the children and staff on the edge of their seats, with the villain’s humorous mishaps prompting boos and the hero’s triumphs earning cheers and applause.

The interactive nature of the performance added to the merriment, as the audience shouted warnings to the characters and clapped along to the music.

The production, from Shooting Star Entertainment, featured moments of heartfelt storytelling, reminding audiences of the importance of perseverance, kindness, and believing in one’s dreams - key themes of the Dick Whittington story.
