Quiz night sparks a winning streak, raising a staggering £75,000 for children’s hospice

It was a quizzical affair with a charitable twist as teams went head-to-head at a charity quiz night on in support of Haven House Children’s Hospice.

The event, held at Proud, London, welcomed more than 200 attendees from the insurance sector, who put their heads (and hearts) together for an evening of friendly competition, team spirit, and giving back for Haven House Children's Hospice.

The lively evening included rounds of brain-busting trivia, an auction and a raffle, with participants eagerly vying for prizes. The night was filled with wit and wisdom, and most importantly over £75,000 was raised to support seriously ill children.

Spearheaded by Guy Carpenter and Hiscox, the event aimed to raise essential funds to support the hospice’s mission of providing care, comfort, and quality of life to children facing life-limiting illnesses and their families. Thanks to the generous contributions of attendees, sponsors, and auction participants, the event not only met but surpassed its fundraising goal.

“The incredible support we received reflects the compassion and commitment of our business community, and we’re proud to contribute to such a worthy cause. It’s a wonderful way to bring people together for an evening of fun and philanthropy.

Quizmaster Rory Barker, Head of Group Outwards Reinsurance, at Hiscox.

Haven House relies on donations and events like the quiz night to fund the essential services it provides. The funds raised will help the hospice continue offering specialist care and therapeutic services for children and families when they need it most.

In expressing heartfelt thanks, Ralph Coulbeck, Chief Executive at Haven House, added: “We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of this event and immensely grateful to everyone who took part. The amount will make a huge difference in our ability to provide essential care and support for the children and families we serve. Seeing such knowledge and kindness combine has been incredible and we are already looking forward to the next one!”

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of sponsors, and everyone who joined on the night. A heartfelt thank you to sponsors:
