Refurbished family flat unveiled – Powered by community support Haven House Children’s Hospice is delighted to announce the completion of the refurbishment of its on-site family flat - a peaceful and homely space where families can stay close to their children during times of care. The revitalised flat now features a modern open-plan living area, a fully fitted kitchen, comfortable new furniture, fresh flooring, a play area for children and widened doorways to improve accessibility. The result is a comfortable, thoughtfully designed space, where families can recharge and stay connected with their child throughout their time at the hospice. “For many families, this flat becomes their sanctuary during moments of incredible emotional and physical strain,” said Aisling Kilbane, Director of Clinical Services at Haven House. “It’s a key part of our holistic support - not only for the child but for the whole family. Whether they’re accessing end-of-life care or transitioning from hospital to home, this space allows families to reconnect, find comfort, and feel truly cared for in an environment that feels like home. ” The project was completed thanks to the generosity of our incredible corporate partner Macfarlanes LLP, who raised vital funds for Haven House through their charity of the year partnership, together with several incredible community partners: Etcetera who completed the renovation project Galliard Homes and its suppliers, Amtico and Woodalls, who provided the flooring throughout the flat, the white goods and the flat screen televisions Chingford Electrical Supplies, who donated approximately £600 worth of electrical accessories including switches and sockets. Dulux Decorating Centre, who donated all the paint used in the refurbishment Dr Prima Vig who funded the play area The Percy Bilton Trust who funded the murphy beds 4 Front Furniture Ltd and Diamond Corporation, for kindly donating all new furniture. Guilherme Monteiro of Monteiro Design, who provided inspiration to colour/finishes and layout. “The support of the community has made this transformation possible, and we are incredibly grateful.
