South Woodford Islamic Centre Donates £5,000 to Haven House South Woodford Islamic Centre (SWIC) has donated £5,000 towards our essential care and support services. The donation, raised through contributions from worshippers during Friday prayers, will go towards funding the specialised nursing care, therapeutic activities, and emotional support that Haven House offers free of charge to families in need. Dr. Mohammed Fahim, Chairman of SWIC and Head Imam, highlighted the significance of charity in the Islamic faith, saying: “As Muslims, we believe offering care and support to families who are in need is part of our religion. Charity is a core tenet of Islam. In the last year, our congregation has raised £130,000 for global disasters and people in crisis.” SWIC is a community-focused mosque dedicated to fostering unity. SWIC strives to make a positive impact on the lives of the community and help those in need. Haven House’s fundraising manager, Reiko Murray, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous contribution. She said: “Your donation will have a profound impact on the lives of the children facing life-limiting conditions. You are making a difference in the lives of seriously ill children and their families, and your donation reminds us of the strength of a community united in caring for those in need. We are absolutely delighted that SWIC is supporting us.”
