Laughter, costumes and a little bit of magic filled the air at Haven House Children’s Hospice this week as 250 children and families joined our Halloween Trail - a frightfully fun adventure through our woodland grounds.

Children, parents, and staff alike embraced the spooky spirit, arriving dressed as witches, wizards, pumpkins and ghosts to enjoy a day bursting with laughter, imagination and plenty of Halloween spirit. The trail led families through autumn-coloured paths filled with eerie sights and surprises, ending with a craft station where children designed their own ghoulish goodies to take home.

Along the way, brave adventurers stopped by the Witches’ cauldron, where magical potions bubbled and spooky surprises awaited. Adding to the fun, every child also got to pick their very own pumpkin from our pop-up pumpkin patch - a perfect souvenir to take home and carve for Halloween night.
“It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying themselves and our grounds transformed into a Halloween wonderland,” said Rebecca Hancock Haven House’s Community and Events Officer. 

“Events like this not only bring joy to local children but also help raise vital funds to support the care we provide to seriously ill children and their families all year round.”

The event raised an incredible £3,200 which will go directly towards helping Haven House continue its specialist care, respite and support for children and families across North East London, West Essex and East Hertfordshire.

A huge thank you goes out to our wonderful volunteers and supporters, whose creativity and hard work in supplying decorations and setting up the trail helped make the day such a magical and memorable experience for every family who visited.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Families can now look forward to our next enchanting celebration - the Haven House Christmas Grotto - where Santa and his helpers will be spreading seasonal cheer at Northfield Nursery. Guests will step into a magical winter walkthrough filled with twinkling lights, festive crafts, and Christmas wonder for all ages. And of course, no visit would be complete without meeting Father Christmas himself!
