Stories News Through Their Eyes: Powerful New Film Captures Hospice Care Through The Eyes Of Two Siblings The groundbreaking film has been developed by creative agency, MOREVER. Entitled: Through Their Eyes, it shows the hospice through the eyes of six-year-old Charlie, and his older brother, Dylan. The film puts the audience directly into their world, revealing the joy that both boys experience at Haven House Children’s Hospice, and how being there has helped them to forge a special relationship. The film offers a child’s perspective on Charlie and Dylan’s experiences, immersing the viewer in the tactile and sensory world of the hospice. As Charlie does not use words to communicate, his brother Dylan provides the voiceover, emphasising the bond between brothers and offering a glimpse into how Charlie experiences joy in ways that are deeply personal and profound. As a charity, Haven House is dependent on the generosity of donors and supporters, needing to raise around £6 million each year, just to keep going. The hospice sector is facing a collective deficit of £77 million, with children's hospices increasingly relying on charitable income and reserves to provide vital care and support. The film is launching exclusively this evening to 300 guests at the Haven House Ball - a glamorous black-tie event at the London Marriott Hotel hosted by This Morning co-presenter Ben Shephard and attended by celebrity ambassadors creator of Downton Abbey, Lord Julian Fellowes and his wife Lady Emma Fellowes. Hospice ambassadors and reality TV stars Billie and Greg Shepherd. The Only Way is Essex's Courtney Green and Chloe Meadows. The ball serves as a crucial opportunity to raise a significant portion of the charity’s annual fundraising target and the film will offer guests a poignant insight into the impact of the hospice’s care on seriously ill children and their families. Haven House Director of Care, Aisling Kilbane, who features in the film, said: “Haven House creates opportunities for all children, including those who communicate in different ways or have complex needs, to experience the fullness of life - whether through music, sensory exploration, or meaningful connections. “Every child has a voice - sometimes we just need to find the right way to listen. At Haven House, we create spaces where children like Charlie can express themselves, not just through words, but through laughter, touch, music, and connection. Through Their Eyes is a powerful reflection of this, showing that every child’s experience matters, and that joy, love, and belonging can be felt in so many ways.” Speaking about the care her family has received from Haven House, Charlie and Dylan’s mother, Ananda Gill said: “Haven House has been a lifeline, adapting to meet our changing needs. It allowed us to discharge Charlie from hospital, uniting our family. The therapies provided have helped him thrive, showcasing his capabilities and giving him a place in a world that often doesn’t cater to his needs. Charlie comes to Haven House to live.” Managing Director of MOREVER, Abi Mellor said: “We have seen how Haven House is a place that brings children joy, despite their personal situation. We wanted to create a film that embodies the experiences of the children who are cared for by the team, and shows how this special place allows children to be children, even when they’re seriously ill.”
