It was an honour to be invited to the Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Friday, attended by The Prince and Princess of Wales and members of the Royal Family.

The service reflected upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times. The service shone a spotlight on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love and kindness towards others in their communities, and members of our nursing team went along to represent children’s hospice care.

Nodding to the importance of nature as a source of healing and comfort, the Abbey was adorned with sustainable, festive decorations and foliage, providing a beautiful Christmas backdrop for the service. A ‘Kindness Tree’ situated outside the Abbey allowed guests to dedicate a decoration to someone special. Our nurses dedicated this to the families and staff at Haven House.

The service will air on ITV at 7:30pm this Christmas Eve.
