We had a Ball - A record-breaking night for Haven House Last night (Thursday 19 March) we came together at the InterContinental Hotel, Park Lane, for our Haven House Ball - and what an extraordinary evening it was. From the moment our guests arrived, there was a palpable warmth in the room. Hosted by our patron and television presenter Ben Shephard, the evening was brought together with humour, energy and genuine passion for Haven House, setting the tone for a night defined by generosity. We are delighted to share that the evening raised an exceptional amount in support of our work - approximately £250,000, with final figures still being confirmed - our highest total ever. A record-breaking night for Haven House and a powerful reflection of the generosity and belief in our work. Throughout the evening, we were reminded why that support matters so deeply. We heard about the growing need for children’s hospice care, and the increasing number of families turning to Haven House for support. Today, we care for more than 450 children and families across North East London and Essex - a number that continues to rise. Providing this level of specialist care costs around £9 million each year, with the majority funded through voluntary donations and events like this. A powerful film, narrated by our Ambassador Daniel Mays, offered a moving insight into the lives of the children and families we support, and the compassion, expertise and dignity that define our care. The evening was brought to life by outstanding entertainment from the Aston Band, alongside a compelling auction led by our brilliant auctioneer and comedian Aaron James. Auction highlights included a Monaco super yacht experience, a Harry Kane signed shirt paired with exclusive football experiences at Bayern Munich and Wembley, and a VIP shooting experience for four at Purdey Royal Berkshire. Most importantly, guests were also invited to fund a Haven House care package - directly supporting the specialist nurses and therapists who care for our children and families. Justin Derbyshire, Haven House CEO said: “The generosity shown throughout the evening will make a real and lasting difference. Every donation, every bid, and every contribution helps ensure we can continue to provide specialist care, comfort and support to children whose lives are far too short, and to the families who love them. "Events like this remind us that it truly takes a community to make this care possible. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us, supported us and helped make the evening such a success.” We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors for their generous support:Fabergé, East West Connect, Orbian and CJC
